Has anyone tried this amp yet?

My son has a Roland MicroCube that he uses for guitar (he also has a Fender amp)

I’m very impressed with the little amp.

    Alan,

Does your son use it for acoustic guitar or electric?

Are you looking at stage performance or background?

    Mostly background!

I’m pretty sure it was the MicroCube.

    How big was the venue?

    #72129

Not sure what the attendance was as this was long before we met.

    Jerusha,

He uses it with a hybrid guitar (it has both piezo acoustic pickups and dual humbuckers).

I think the MicroCube is great for an average size or large room, but not close to the power necessary for a venue that seats 500.

    Alan,

I just looked up the hybrid guitar on the internet–what a neat concept!

Does the MicroCube do a good job of preserving the acoustic aspect of the guitar when it’s in acoustic mode and likewise with the electric side of things?

Alan and Jennifer–thanks for all of your help!

I hope no-one minds me resurrecting an old thread but does anyone have any experience with the microcube amp since then? I’d be looking at the 15 watt version for use with both my electric harp and to amplify my acoustic harp for background gigs (both lever harps). Does it give a faithful sound? Can it cope with the range of the harp? How loud would it go (difficult to describe, that one)? Guitarists seem to think very highly of this little amp but I don’t know how their needs would differ from the harp’s needs.

    Thanks in advance!
