I played “Niagara Falls” about ten or so years ago but, unfortunately, I didn’t keep a copy of the part. I don’t recall it being too complicated, though, so hopefully you’ll be able to mark up the part easily….have fun, and good luck!
Thanks. I’ve been listening to a recording and the arpeggios at the beginning sound fairly straightforward. Some glissandos sound like they’re with fingernails or maybe an implement. Overall it sounds like a fun piece. and I look forward to our reading in a couple weeks.
I finally got the music last night. Not hard at all. A prior user of my rental part wrote some incorrect notes above ledger lines but nothing I can’t ignore. My flute DNA makes reading 7 or 8 ledgers no biggie. One page of solo arpeggios followed by three pages of fff glissandos? Best. Part. Ever. The part has printed pick instructions on all glisses after the first page, so the composer must have been at least a big familiar with harp issues in wind ensemble.
I need some help with this piece. I can’t figure out the pedal chart for the last gliss on page 2 (first page of music) and first 3 glisses on p. 3. There is no indication of what the pitches should be, and I can’t really go by the pedal marking prior to them, as one of them is missing (there should be an F-natural marking before 22 but there is not). Can anyone who has played this piece help me out?
