I just acquired my 3rd Thormahlen Harp – and I am a Thormahlen harp lover 4-ever!!!

I was trained on the pedal harp and had previously owned a L&H Style 85E and subsequently a Style 23 … however, joint and ligament problems sent me to a rheumatologist and then a OT/PT -hand therapist.

Although I have owned over 20+ harps; the Thormahlen harps with the concert gut and/or folk gut strings (either the Swan or Cygnet) are sooo close to the timbre of my beloved pedal harps.

I purchased my harp at 8 month-old from a previous buyer. You can view my new/old harp at the following URL:

    http://www.thorharp.com/pages/MahoganyDeluxe.htm

I also owned a custom-made Swan in Koa with Abalone design in the “Tree of Life” pattern and gut strings. It is perfect for performance!!

The harp that I use on a daily basis is my Cherry Thormahlen Cygnet.

My pictures are posted on their Endorsements-web-page … or you can view my current and past harps on my website at:

I am soooo very thrilled with the rich tone and long sustain of the Mahogany wood.

    Best,

Congratulations on the new harp, Cynthy, it certainly is a beauty! I’ve always admired the appearance of the Thormahlen harps, but haven’t had the opportunity to play one. I’m sure you’ll have many years of enjoyment with your new harp!

Absolutely lovely. Thormahlen’s are great sounding harps and very unique. You can always tell one in a harp line-up.

    Wow! Congratulations and happy harping!

20+ harps… sounds amasing. And how many at the same time for today? (My friends are loughing at me while I have 4 different harps, but thinking about another different 2)

After I was classically trained on my first pedal harp, a L&H 85E, I started to acquire lever harps, for the smaller venues, and to learn about lever harps.
