Hello everyone. New member harpist mom here.

I am considering buying a lever harp for my 6th grade

In that price range with those details I would go with the Ogden. In my opinion, for its size and quality, it’s the best bang for the buck.

you can get a used Troubadour for that price too, if you look at L&Hs CPO program website.

I have never played an Ogden but I love the Thormahlen Serenade. The tension on mine is medium high and it has 36 strings.

I love mine because it has the most beautiful tone. If I haven’t played it for a while and come back to it, I wind up with a smile on my face because it sounds so nice.

I am an old beginner, but I taught music for part of my professional life so I do have an appreciation for good sound.

A fully levered Dusty Strings Ravenna 34-string harp, sells for around $1895, and has the most beautiful tone.

Someone just listed a used 38 string L&H Prelude here on the Harp Column classified a few days ago at $3200.
