I am currently restoring ( cosmetically) an old Schwieso Grosjean harp for my house for decorative purposes . It has some old low tension strings on it- I tightened them up a little and the harp made the most aweful noises (creaks etc) and the spine started bowing. Obviously it’s never going to be playable . But I bought it purely for decoration anyway so not a problem.
I had intended to just string it up with strings with no tension but I recently saw laser harps online.
Do you know if it’s possible to incorporate a laser and controller ( the soundbox should have enough room to hide all the equipment) .
The harp may not take the strain of strings but could have a new life again??? Has this been done? Is it possible?
