How often does a harp need to be regulated?

    #163278

I have my harp regulated annually by Ed Galchick (harptweak@kc.rr.com)

He travels all over the country and is a real asset to the community.

If your harp is less than one year old, most manufacturers offer

a free regulation the first year; otherwise it is about $250-$275.

Lyon & Healy also has a list of technicians who do regulation

at lyonhealy.com. Hopefully someone will come to your area.

    Good luck.

Maybe there’s a university somewhere within driving distance that has a harp program? I drove 3.5 hours each way to get my harp regulated for the first free one, but the next time will be at a local university where the same guy (Tom Bell) makes a regulation visit

Generally, if you are playing professionally full time and your harp gets used a lot, you’d have it regulated at least once a year. If you’re a semi-professional, then every 1-2 years, if you play for yourself then every 3 years.

Enchanted Harp in Puyallup, WA arranges regulations for their harp community.
