I have been a professional harpist for years, but haven’t taught harp for ages! Recently I was approached about a teaching position. The Betty Paret books were what I started with as a student, and they were what I always used for my students. I know that there are a lot more materials out there now and wondered if anyone could recommend any books/ methods. Thanks for any input.

ABC of Harp Playing, Pathfinder Studies, Method for the Harp by Lucile Lawrence and Carlos Salzedo, plus Salzedo’s Tiny Tales and Sketches for Harpist Beginners, which have very nice easy pieces that are musically interesting. I like Betty Paret’s first book, too.

I forgot to include the Art of Modulating, an important book for not only pedal study, but also wonderful non-pedal solos.
