Hi, this past month i sort of did a harp rescue and I would like to find out how old this harp is. Do harp companies in general keep records of serial numbers? I did write to a distributor in Canada but they disregarded my question about the serial number ; then gave me info on where to buy strings. Any thoughts on this, have any of you ever tried to find out how old a harp is? Sonya

I assume the numbers are mostly to help the makers keep records, but I would expect the maker to be more use than a distributor.

If this doesn’t work you could post the make and number here and see if anyone has a nearby number of known age.

What brand of instrument is it? They should keep records, although, some have been lost. I think its best sometimes to call someone at the company, emails often get answered incorrectly 🙂 Good luck!!
