Dear Freinds and Friends of the Harp,
I was recently up in Callistoga and one evening ventured into a gallery by a most remarkable artist – Guy Pederson. He’s a multi—talented artist – doing a variey of styles of painting, and also a variety of sculpture.
What captured my attention though was a speical process he developed that takes objsects and grows crystals on them, See pictures below.
‘I asked him if he’d ever made a crystallize harp and he said he hadn’t. He said a harp is way too big to do/he only knew of the concert pedal harps. But when I told him, and showed him pictures of small harps, he was very intrigued ad thought they would be very beautiful with this process.
I told him I’d look around to see if I could find him some small lap harps. He’s a struggling artist – so any harp given to him would be a donation to supporting this wonderful artist. He recommended harps that are not playable as once he crysallizes them, they will no longer be playable.
He doesn’t have a webstie; but if you want to learn more about him, he told me is on instgram (I’m not)..
So if any of you have any samll harps that are no longer playable, (for those living in the San FRancisco Bay ARea). I’d be happy to pick them up and drive them to Callistoga. Or take them up yourself. Seeing these crystal instrumenst (and other objects) is worth the trip. For those out of town, contact me and we can brainstorm getting a harp/s to him.
See pics below.
Warm wishes,
Diana
