    An old thread that mentioned composers writing harps from the keyboard reminded me of a recent experience with a part where the composer either played them directly in and walked away or wrote what would be rolled chords so his software would play them back how he wanted them to sound. Consequently, what would be about 15 measures of rolled chords was instead

    There is nothing wrong with writing at the keyboard, so long as you actually understand the differences between keyboard instruments and harps, recognize that what sounds good on a keyboard won’t necessarily sound good on a harp, and actually hear it played on a harp before you
