Welsh jazz harpist Amanda Whiting is releasing her new album A Christmas Cwtch on First Word Records on Dec. 2. This 14-track collection takes on assorted classics by musicians such as Vince Guaraldi, Bill Evans, Gustav Holst, and Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky, and re-presents them with original arrangements by Whiting and her trio. A Christmas Cwtch is available on major streaming platforms, as well as on CD and vinyl.
“Just mention Christmas and you hear Guaraldi, Bill Evans, and the sound of sleigh bells and harps,” Whiting says. “It’s my favorite time of year, and the music evokes everything warm and cwtchy. Sparkling lights, mince pies, mulled wine, and nostalgia around the tree.”
