The USA International Harp Competition (USAIHC) has announced the dates of its upcoming 13th Competition as May 14–24, 2025. The competition will take place at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Ind., and is open to harpists of all nationalities between the ages of 18 and 32.

The USAIHC has also updated its application timeline and requirements. The updated application closing date is November 15, 2024, and the notice of acceptance will be January 2, 2025. The application video requirement has been updated to the two required Sonatas by D. Scarlatti and Impromptu op. 86 by G. Fauré.  For more information, including the online application form and repertoire requirements, visit the USAIHC’s website

The USAIHC is a triennial competition founded in 1989 by Susann McDonald, a world-renowned harpist and Distinguished Professor Emerita of Harp at Indiana University. “We are pleased to work with Indiana University to continue our 35-year tradition,” states Board President Joyce Claflin in a press release. “The USA International Harp Competition is proud to have [Indiana University] as an Exclusive Sponsor as well as Lyon & Healy and Salvi Harps.”

Several concerts will also take place during the ten days of competition. Most events are free to the public; certain concerts require the purchase of tickets. A full schedule of events and locations will be available soon on the USAIHC’s website and on social media platforms.
