USAIHC announces opening for executive director

The Board of Directors for the USA International Harp Competition (USAIHC) has announced a search for the new executive director. The position was previously held by harpist and arts administrator, Erin Brooker–Miller. Based at the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Ind., the executive director will “provide dynamic leadership and direct the management, planning, and fundraising activities of the USAIHC.” The executive director will also be expected to direct programs related to the competition, “enhancing the USAIHC’s reputation as a leading international harp competition and a regional promoter of education and outreach of classical music performance.” The position is three-quarter time, with additional hours and overtime pay as needed. Additional staffing is provided by Indiana University interns.

Preferred experience includes three years of leadership, management, and fundraising experience, with a background in classical music performance and arts administration. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, and submit a cover letter and resume to apply.
