The USA International Harp Competition (USAIHC) has announced its fall concert, to be held at 8 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Auer Hall. Tickets are available for purchase in advance on the USAIHC website or at the door.

The concert features the Crimson Duo (Jaymee Haefner, harp, and Matthew Milewski, violin) in an interwoven presentation of music and visual art. “Stringscapes” is Crimson Duo’s most recent project, in which they collaborate with composers and visual artists from South Dakota to join images of nature with newly commissioned pieces. This experience in nature is the origin of compositions by Libby Larsen (Minnesota), Jeffrey Paul (South Dakota), and Kirsten Soriano (Dallas-Fort Worth) on this program, along with the Crimson Duo’s recent commissions by Paul Patterson (London) and Patricio Da Silva (Los Angeles). The program also includes a lesser-known work by the legendary harpist and composer Henriette Renié.
