I’ve taught private harp lessons and workshops since 1988. All levels and styles. For those interested, I teach improvisation, composition, storytelling, ensemble, and I support students pursuing music for healing and transition certification.
I began piano at age 5 and harp at 9, studying pedal harp performance with Eileen Malone at The Eastman School of Music and later Sally Maxwell at the University of Oregon School of Music. I performed widely, including at major music festivals, on NYC streets, and at house concerts in Europe and S. America until an injury ended my performance career. I have long been focused on and love guiding my students' musical journeys. I teach the French method (though I was also trained in Salzedo) and, with children, use a whole child approach.
I host recitals ("harp parties") three times a year for students to gain performance experience and meet other harpists. Free 30-min introductory sessions offered for prospective students.
