A primary focus is observing and implementing relaxed hand position. Our hands are our only tools. We have no hammers, keys or mallets!
I ask students to apply analytical skills, such as identifying patterns and chords, so that musical understanding and balance are essential to performance preparation.
I believe in developing objectivity and realistic expectations through recording and listening.
My WVU harp studio offers applied study for University students and lessons through the WVU Community Music Program. We offer a six week trial course, "Harp On It," which includes rental of the school troubadour.
We frequently tour WV Schools and hospitals, featured as the Morgantown Harp Ensemble. Our program offers a short ensemble performance followed by hands on workshop for the audience, using small lap harps for group instruction. Please view the following you tube of our Webster County Schools tour:
