Outdoor Wedding Tips—The Grab and Go Rule

—by Hannah Eagleson

Now that it’s March, and there’s some hope the weather will thaw out, I’m sharing a few outdoor wedding tips. Would love to hear tips from others, too!

I made a Grab and Go rule: if I can’t grab the harp and sprint to safety with it, it doesn’t go outdoors. As much as I love my concert grand, I can’t move it easily, so I don’t take it to outdoor weddings. When I come upon a tiny bridge over a gully between me and the ceremony site, I smile, throw my 27-pound Ogden over my shoulder, and stride across. This doesn’t work for everyone, but it’s made life a lot simpler. And I love my lever harp, too, so it’s a perfect chance to learn fun repertoire on a beautiful instrument.
