The Midwest Harp Festival has announced the lineup for their 17th festival, which will take place July 17–23, 2016. Harpists ages 9–adult at all levels are invited to participate in the week-long event, which includes workshops, harp ensembles, and concerts at University of Tulsa’s Lorton Performance Center. 2016 featured artists include Mary Bircher, Faye Seeman, Elizabeth Richter, and the Felice Pomeranz Jazz Quartet.
This year’s festival includes for the first time the Salzedo Competition, sponsored by Suzann Davids. The Salzedo Competition takes place in conjunction with the festival’s main solo competition on Tuesday, July 19. Repertoire includes “Chanson dans la Nuit,” (maximum age 18); and “Variations on a Theme in Ancient Style,” (maximum age 30).
