The Houston Symphony has appointed Allegra Lilly principal harpist, following four screened audition rounds and a trial week. She succeeds Megan Conley in this role and will begin her new position in May.
Lilly says of her appointment, “The Houston Symphony is in the midst of a very exciting era of visionary leadership, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining them as principal harp in just a few short weeks! I have been so fortunate to have played the past 10 seasons with the wonderful St. Louis Symphony and will miss my dear colleagues tremendously, but my heart is full as I look ahead to the biggest bonus ever: playing in the same orchestra as my husband after four-plus years of living 800 miles apart.”
