The Lewisville Lake Symphony International Competition for Strings will be held at the University of North Texas, where Jaymee Haefner is the harp instructor.

The Lewisville Lake Symphony International Competition for Strings will be held at the University of North Texas, where Jaymee Haefner is the harp instructor.

Harpists are invited to enter the 2015 Lewisville Lake Symphony International Competition for Strings. The competition is open to to violinists, violists, cellists, bassists, and harpists ages 18–30 who are planning a professional career in music and are currently enrolled in college. First Prize includes $2,000 and a performance with the Lewisville Lake Symphony at their 2015-16 season opening concert. A preliminary video round will be held in January, with a January 19, 2015 deadline for YouTube entries. The live final round will take place on March 14 on the campus of the University of North Texas, in Denton, Texas. Repertoire includes the Gliere harp concerto, Op. 74, and the Pierne Concertstuck, Op. 39. For more information and to apply, visit www.lewisvillesymphony.org.
