March 18, 2022

Rowan University in New Jersey has appointed Chelsea Lane to the position of adjunct harp instructor for the 2022–2023 academic year. Lane will spearhead the creation of the harp department, which will offer lessons to majors and minors in music.

The Department of Music at Rowan University offers degrees for students seeking to become music educators, performing musicians, composers, music industry professionals, and audio engineers and producers.

Lane graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with a B.A. in Music, completed her M.A. in Harp Performance met grote onderscheiding at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels, and is currently in the final stages of completing her D.M.A. in Music Performance at The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY). An international prize winner and active freelance musician, Lane currently resides in Brooklyn, N.Y. In addition to private teaching, she serves as adjunct faculty at the College of Staten Island, CUNY.

“The possibilities offered by restarting a program from scratch are very exciting,” Lane says in a press release. “I am so looking forward to helping the department grow alongside the next generation of harp students.”
