The Boston Conservatory at Berklee has appointed Krysten Keches assistant professor of harp, effective fall 2024. “I’m thrilled to be working with Boston Conservatory’s harp students and am excited to support their diverse interests alongside fellow harp faculty member Charles Overton,” Keches says. “My goal is to help our students hone their skills while fostering a spirit of exploration and community, and I’m especially looking forward to teaching a pedagogy course and leading weekly studio classes.”

In addition to her new appointment at the Boston Conservatory, Keches is the harp coach for the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras and maintains a private studio at her home in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She has performed as a solo, chamber, and orchestral musician at venues throughout the United States and overseas, including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Royal Albert Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie, Teatro alla Scala, the Gewandhaus, and Boston’s Symphony Hall. Keches is the principal harpist of the Boston Festival Orchestra and the chamber orchestra Phoenix, and she performs regularly as a guest harpist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops.

Keches holds a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Harvard College, a Graduate Diploma with high distinction from the Australian National University School of Music funded by a 2010 U.S. Fulbright Scholarship, and a Master of Music from New England Conservatory. She studied with Elizabeth Morse, Alice Giles, and Jessica Zhou.
