Katrina Szederkényi opens International Harp Competition in Szeged Hungary

Former first prize winner Katrina Szederkényi will open the International Harp Competition in Szeged, Hungary.

The International Harp Competition in Szeged, Hungary, kicks off Nov. 30, 2016, with an opening concert by Katrina Szederkényi. Originally from Canada, Szederkényi is now co-principal harpist with the Duisburg Philharmonic. She won First Prize at the Szeged competition In 2013 and was also a prize winner at the International Harp Competition Felix Godefroid, in St. Petersburg.

The competition will run through Dec. 4 and includes three divisions for harpists under age 14, under age 19, and under age 25. Jury members include Isabelle Moretti; Letizia Belmondo; Stephen Fitzpatrick; Andrea Vigh; Melinda Felletár; Sirin Pancaroglu; Manja Smits; Dalibor Bernatovič; Sándor Gyüdi; Ferenc Kerek; and Péter Tóth.
