Hong Kong IHC announces 2018 repertoire

The Hong Kong International Competition has announced repertoire for its fourth competition, which will take place Oct. 4-7, 2018. There are eight divisions, including a level for children ages 6 and below, a professional division for ages 30 and under, and an “open” category, ages 20 and above, for non-harp majors. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2018, and admitted contestants will be announced in July 2018.

This competition aims to increase musical accessibility and expand educational opportunities for harpists at all levels: age groups are more narrow than is typical to better fit individual abilities and harpists will receive a comprehensive evaluation after their performances. Yuying Chen, winner of the 19^th International Harp Competition in Israel, will perform a recital, and judges for the competition will include Dan Yu, Isabelle Perrin, and Jason Chang.
