First Utah Harp Competition announces winners

The Utah Chapter of the American Harp Society (AHS) has announced the results of its inaugural Utah Harp Competition, held Sept. 9 in Salt Lake City. Nearly 30 students between the ages of 8 and 23 competed in four divisions for a total of $1,350 in prizes. Monet Wilson won first place in the Emerging Professional Division, earning her the distinction of Utah Concert Artist.

1st place and Utah Concert Artist: Monet Wilson

2nd place: Annelise Hunter

Advanced Division (up to age 19)

1st place: Kaila Blodgett

2nd place: Sariah Ashton

3rd place: Whitney Jensen

Intermediate Division (up to age 16)

1st place: Elizabeth Brubaker and Sonnet Wilson (tie)

3rd place: Asia Eyre

Honorable Mention: Blithe Bigelow

Junior Division (up to age 13)

1st place: Eva Bush

2nd place: Katerina Ellingson

3rd place: Lydia Darias and Marianne Buck (tie)
