The Fort Collins Symphony in Fort Collins, Colo., has appointed Abigail Enssle as principal harp starting in April. She says she is excited to collaborate with fellow musicians in her community, both in larger orchestral settings and small ensembles, and to join a group of musicians committed to excellence. “Having a local platform where my friends and family can share my passion for classical music is deeply meaningful,” Enssle says.

A soloist and orchestral performer, Enssle began her studies with Pam Eldridge and later studied with Courtney Hershey Bress of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Enssle earned her degree in harp performance from Colorado State University in 2021. She has recently performed with the Fort Collins Symphony, Colorado Symphony, and Colorado Ballet. Enssle was a winner of the 2018 Anne Adams Awards and the 2016 Young Artists Harp Competition. She also received the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship after appearing on From the Top in 2015.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Enssle is a dedicated EMT in Estes Park, Colo., serves on search and rescue teams, and is currently finishing her Paramedic education in Denver.
