The Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester is accepting applications for a part-time harp faculty position. Review of applications will begin Oct. 27 and will continue until the position is filled. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2026. Applicants must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, links to three to six recordings of performances and/or teaching examples, and three confidential letters of recommendation.
Responsibilities include teaching applied-music majors and maintaining national/international standing as a performing artist and teacher. Additional duties may include teaching relevant classes in harp performance and/or harp pedagogy, coaching chamber music, or teaching in a secondary area of expertise. The new faculty member will participate in recruitment, auditions, juries, and recitals.

Eastman has appointed an interim harp instructor, Andrea Mumm, to teach during the 2025–2026 academic year while the school conducts its search. Mumm is principal harp of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and is the Lecturer of Harp at University of North Carolina Greensboro. Mumm holds a Bachelor of Music degree and Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music and a Master of Music degree with Program Honors from Northwestern University. She has also studied with Sarah Bullen at the Chicago College of Performing Arts.
