The Sydney Symphony Orchestra (SSO) has appointed Louisic Dulbecco principal harpist, following auditions held Sept. 25–26, 2023. Dulbecco’s one-year trial for this permanent, full-time position will begin in July.

“I am very excited to start on this new adventure in Sydney,” Dulbecco says of her appointment. “I already met the orchestra and they are fantastic, both musically and [personally]. The musicians at the SSO all play wonderfully and it really motivates me to give my best and keep aiming for excellency. I look forward to meeting a lot of new people and discovering the beautiful country down under.”

Dulbecco serves as principal harpist of the Warsaw Philharmonic through the end of this season. She has also performed with orchestras such as the Hamburg Staatsoper, Berlin Symphony Orchestra, and German radio orchestras Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester in Berlin and hr-Sinfonieorchester in Frankfurt.

Dulbecco has previously studied with Xavier de Maistre and Andreas Mildner. She holds a bachelor’s degree in harp and master’s degree in chamber music from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, a master’s degree in harp from the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg, and a music teaching diploma in harp and chamber music from the Conservatory of Bordeaux.
