An exciting chapter has begun for TU Dublin Conservatoire with the move in 2021 to stunning purpose-built facilities for the creative and performing arts within the new TU Dublin Grangegorman campus in the heart of Dublin City.

On 15th October 1890, the Dublin Municipal School of Music opened its doors at the Assembly Rooms in William Street with classes in flute, piccolo, clarinet, horn and drums. It quickly expanded to include the full range of instruments, voice and drama, and in 1963 became known as the College of Music. New opportunities followed in 1978, when the College became part of Dublin Institute of Technology. In 2019, with the establishment of Technological University Dublin, DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama became TU Dublin Conservatoire. Another exciting chapter has begun with the move in 2021 to stunning purpose-built facilities for the creative and performing arts within the new TU Dublin Grangegorman campus in the heart of Dublin City.

We have offered undergraduate programmes in music since 1986 and our full range of degree level courses now includes: BMus, BMusEd (in partnership with Trinity College Dublin and the Royal Irish Academy of Music), BA Drama Performance, BA Commercial Modern Music (in association with BIMM Dublin), MMus (Performance, Conducting and Composition), MPhil, DMus in Performance and PhD. In our Junior Conservatoire, we offer high quality, performance-based instrumental, musicianship and ensemble programmes, as well as a variety of part-time courses for adults.
