“Every combination of sounds is like a unique brushstroke in painting; it creates a timbre that is vivid and fresh to the ear.”
—Arnold Schoenberg

Today’s Tip:
CREATE COLOR WITH YOUR MUSIC
Just as a painter blends hues on a canvas, we can blend sounds to create an auditory “palette.” Try using different techniques or effects to add shades to your playing, or varying your dynamics and phrasing to bring in light and shadow. By using contrasts and subtle nuances, we can tell a story that resonates with the listener.
