“Nurturing the Artist within the Harpist.” The American Harp Academy welcomes Noel Wan (Gold Medalist of the 2022 USA International Harp Competition) as our 2026 Guest Teaching Artist. The Academy is for harpists that want to be immersed in their music, surrounded by a community of artists that nurture creativity and artistic excellence. Enjoy 1-week of intensive solo and chamber music study with world-class performers and dedicated teachers in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

“Nurturing the Artist within the Harpist”. The American Harp Academy welcomes Noel Wan (Gold Medalist of the 2022 USA International Harp Competition) as our 2026 Guest Teaching Artist. Harpists participate in intensive study with world-class performers and dedicated teachers, in this 1-week program that is designed to prepare harpists for competitions, auditions, recitals, repertoire expansion, and other artistic ambitions. Join us this summer to focus on your goals in a nurturing and supportive environment and meet and hear peer harpists from around the world. Founded in 2020, the American Harp Academy is held on the beautiful campus of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA. Former guest teaching artists include Elizabeth Hainen (Philadelphia Orchestra), Abigail Kent (Baltimore Symphony), and Maria Luisa Rayan (Internationally Renowned Soloist).

About Noel Wan (2026 Guest Teaching Artist)
Wan was recently appointed to the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music, one of the world’s most prestigious conservatories while continuing teaching harp and entrepreneurship at Florida State University. Celebrated for her charismatic artistry and genre-crossing virtuosity, Wan has won major international harp competitions, including the Gold Medal in the 2022 USA International Harp Competition. Her present research/creation explores the embodiment of digital sound creation through electroacoustic harp.

All skill levels welcome, ages 12 to adult. Housing is available for rising high school freshman and older (students under 14 must attend as commuter students).
