Harpist and composer Alexander Boldachev is collaborating with the Italian fashion brand Fendi for its 100-year jubilee. The collaboration, which will include events featuring Boldachev’s harp performances, was sparked by a performance at the private house of Barnaba Fornasetti, son of Piero Fornasetti and a key figure in Italian design. “For me, Fendi is the heritage of Italy, just as Salvi Harps represents Italy’s legacy in the world of music,” Boldachev says in a press release. “This collaboration is more than a performance—it is a statement that the harp is an instrument of timeless beauty, complexity, and cultural significance.” So far, Boldachev has co-organized and performed two major events for Fendi during Milan Fashion Week, held in historic palazzos. More events are set to take place in late 2025, expanding beyond Italy into other locations around the world.
Boldachev’s harp career has already met with the fashion world. In February 2025, Boldachev became the official ambassador for Bulgari Swiss Allianz, a luxury watch brand. Boldachev says “the partnership highlights a unique connection between the intricate mechanics of a harp—an instrument with over 2,500 moving parts—and the precision of fine watchmaking, elevating the harp as a masterpiece of craftsmanship equal to the most sophisticated timepieces.” Through these recent collaborations with Fendi and Bulgari and his previous partnerships blending music and fashion—including performing at Dolce & Gabbana’s Alto Modo experience on Lake Como, collaborating with Burberry in Zurich, and making appearances at GQ Man of the Year and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week—Boldachev says he seeks to redefine “how the harp is perceived—not just as a classical instrument, but as a symbol of innovation, craftsmanship, and artistic expression that belongs in the world of high fashion.”
