Anastasia Pike appointed to James Madison University faculty

Anastasia Pike has been appointed to the harp faculty at James Madison University. “I am delighted to join the exceptional faculty at James Madison University,” Pike says. “I am a passionate educator and performer, and my vision is to build a collaborative studio where my students can grow and challenge themselves to be better musicians.”

Located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, James Madison University offers a variety of undergraduate music degrees, in addition to their Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts programs. Pike also serves on the harp faculty of Teachers College, Columbia University, in New York City, Christopher Newport University in Virginia, and The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. She is the Associate Director of the Crested Butte Music Festival Chamber Music Intensive.

Pike received her doctorate from Columbia University, and holds master’s degrees from The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University majoring in harp performance with a minor in piano, and from the University of Maryland in musicology. She completed additional studies at the Juilliard School, the MasterWorks Festival in London, and, upon personal invitation, the Salzedo Harp Colony. Pike’s primary harp instructors were Alice Chalifoux and Jeanne Chalifoux.
