The American Harp Foundation has announced the repertoire for its 2024 competitions: the Anne Adams Awards and the Grandjany Memorial Competition.

The American Harp Foundation has announced the repertoire for its 2024 competitions: the Anne Adams Awards and the Grandjany Memorial Competition. The competitions will be held in late spring of 2024; the location and date of both competitions are to be announced.

The Anne Adams Awards chooses three winners to receive a $3,000 scholarship award for full-time study of the harp. The competition is open to harpists who are enrolled full-time in colleges or universities through a master’s degree, and competitors must be members of the American Harp Society.

The Grandjany Memorial Competition is open to harpists who are 35 or younger as of the due date of the application. The competition will name one winner who receives an award of $3,500.

Anne Adams Awards Repertoire

Solo

  • Légende by Philippe Gaubert
  • “Menuet,” “Gavotte,” “Siciliana,” and “Bolero” from Suite of Eight Dances by Carlos Salzedo
  • “L’Éternel rêveur” from Au hasard des ondes, Op. 50, by Marcel Tournier
  • “Clair de lune sur l’étang du parc” from Images, Suite No. 1, Op. 29, by Marcel Tournier

Grandjany Memorial Competition Repertoire

  • “Etude No. 2: Fugue in D minor,” from the Bach-Grandjany Etudes for Harp by J.S. Bach, arr. Marcel Grandjany
  • Children’s Hour Suite, Op. 25, by Marcel Grandjany

The 2022 Anne Adams Awards and Grandjany Memorial Competition were held virtually. Kelly Guangyin Hou, Rebekah Hou, and Morgan Short were selected as the three winners of the 2022 Anne Adams Awards. Natalie Man won the 2022 Grandjany Memorial Competition prize.
