The Hong Kong International Harp Competition has announced required repertoire for its ninth edition, to be held Oct. 1–7, 2025, in Y Square, Hong Kong. The competition consists of 12 divisions, categorized by age (as of Oct. 1, 2025) and type of harp (lever or pedal), including three divisions for harp duets. Application information will be available soon on the competition website. Required repertoire is listed below.
A. Children (Lever), ages 6 and under
- “The Little Black Swan” from Beginner’s Harp Book by Phyllis Scholomovitz
- One free choice piece, for a total duration of 4 minutes
B. Primary I (Lever), ages 9 and under
- “Musetta’s Waltz” by Giacomo Puccini, from Classics on Request, vol. 1, arr. Barbara Brundage (Seaside Press edition)
- One free choice piece, for a total duration of 6 minutes
C. Primary II (Lever), ages 12 and under

F. Secondary I (Pedal), ages 15 and under

G. Secondary II (Pedal), ages 19 and under

Stage 1:

I. Open (Pedal), ages 20 and above

This division is for non-harp major current students and graduates.
J. Harp Duet (Lever), ages 15 and under
- One free choice piece for two lever harps, with a maximum duration of 6 minutes
K. Harp Duet Open (Pedal/Lever), no age limit
- One free choice piece for pedal harp with pedal or lever harp, with a maximum duration of 8 minutes
This division is for non-harp major current students and graduates.
L. Harp Duet Professional (Pedal), no age limit
- “Malagueña” from Andalucía, Suite española, by Ernesto Lecuona, for two pedal harps
- One free choice piece for two pedal harps, for a total duration of 15 minutes
