7th Hong Kong International Harp Competition announces repertoire

The 7th Hong Kong International Harp Competition has announced required repertoire and other application details. Applicants may register between July 2 and August 1 and submit their videos between September 15 and 30. The competition consists of 12 divisions by age and type of harp (lever or pedal). Three of the divisions are for duets with harp and any other instrument or voice.

This year’s competition jury includes harpists Jason Chang, Alice Giles, Ann Huang, Li-Ya Huang, Alfredo Rolando Ortiz, Isabel Moretón, Barbara Sze, Amy Tam, Guan Wang, Lauyee Yeung, and Dan Yu, as well as violinist Elizabeth Lo.

The Hong Kong International Harp Competition aims to encourage harpists to strive for high levels of artistic achievement. Through providing contestants a platform to showcase their talents, the competition aims to promote artistic excellency by fostering creative and cultural exchange. Since its inception in 2010, the competition has expanded its international reach. The sixth competition in 2021 received entries from over 300 contestants representing 22 countries.
