4 Girls 4 Harps Launch Harp Chamber Music Competition


U.K.-based harp quartet 4 Girls 4 Harps has announced plans for the British Harp Chamber Music Competition 2015  for U.K. residents with a goal “to inspire future generations of harpists and as a platform to showcase the harp within diverse ensembles,” according to the competition website. The deadline for preliminary recorded entries is February 27, 2015, with a final round of the competition to take place in June 14, 2015, in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. The competition will include divisions for Harps Only and Mixed Ensemble with Harp; with each division including sections for under and over age 18. Prizes include concert opportunities, cash prizes of £250 from Bow Brand, as well as cash and other prizes to be announced.

“We’ve founded the British Harp Chamber Music Competition because we absolutely love what we do,” says 4 Girls 4 Harps. “We believe making music together is what music is really about; we want to support your ensemble!”
