The International Jeunesses Musicales Competition in Belgrade, Serbia, will feature the harp for the first time in 2025. The competition rotates the instrument for which it accepts applications. Since its inception in 1971, over 2,000 soloists and more than 200 chamber ensembles have participated.
The competition will take place March 21–30, 2025, and is open to advanced harpists from 15 to 35 years old. The application deadline is Jan. 25, 2025. The competition begins with a pre-selection round by video submission. Selected applicants will proceed to the live rounds, the third and final of which will be with orchestra.
Competition prizes include cash awards and a concert opportunity. Repertoire for this year’s competition was chosen by Milena Stanišić (Serbia) and Alexander Boldachev (Switzerland).
