The Hampton Roads Harp Competition has announced the winners of the 2024 contest. Following a preliminary video round, the final round of the competition took place March 16 in conjunction with the Hampton Roads Harp Festival (HRHF) at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.
In the senior division, the judges named Valentina Ramos as the winner. Ramos is a student of Eunice Kim. Other finalists invited to perform in the live round were Lea Kung, Calene Lee, and Zoë Winn.
Noella Lee, a student of JoAnn Turovsky, won this year’s junior division. Flora Cole and Sarah Magdalena Howell were also finalists.
Jury members for this year’s competition included Alexis Colner, Kate Loughrey, and Nadia Pessoa.
