Hello! Does anyone know where I can find J.C. Bach’s Concerto in D Major? I’m using my teacher’s old copy that includes a cadenza by Aristid Von Wurtzler. I can’t find the music anywhere—he said that some harpists don’t like Wurtzler, so maybe the music is disappearing with the man. I’m not as interested in having his cadenza—we have a cadenza by another harpist, but I do want the music.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

If Lyra doesn’t have it, try a music library.

It appears to be available from Pilgrim Harps in England:

Laura, Yes, my version is also the one from Lyra, with the Von Wurtzler cadenza, copyright 1968. You could find a list of most publishers of harp music, perhaps online, and find from their catalogues whether there exists another publication of this concerto, which is for harp and strings. Possibly someone has recorded this concerto, and a search could reveal where to find the recording; the information in print might reveal a different arranger, or at least a different cadenza arranger. Kathleen Bride, harp professor at Eastman School of Music, would be a very good source of information, and the esteemed Sibley Musical Library is located in that institution.
