I submitted a bid to a gig through the online booking website The Bash. The event was in Los Angeles, and I’m in Orange County. I didn’t think anything of it until a few days later when I got an email saying I was hired. It was a restaurant gig for a couple of hours. Great!

The person who hired me sent me an email. “We’re so glad to have you. You have the look we want. Please click the link below and pick any outfit from the website and we will order it for you.” I click the link, and all of the “outfits” are lingerie! No thanks!

I quickly email The Bash and tell them to return the deposit because I had accidentally double booked myself. I then replied to the client’s email apologizing profusely that I had double booked myself and was no longer available. They were very understanding. I’ve never been asked before or since to play my harp in underwear.
