The Barton Harp Initiative sponsors the Midwest Harp Festival each year in June and aims to promote awareness, education, and enrichment of the Midwest harp community. “The harp can be a lonely instrument,” says director Jaina Carpenter. “We often perform by ourselves, edit impossible parts, and attempt to educate the public that we do more than glissandos. That makes it even more special when harpists are able to gather and share tips, tricks, and stories!”
