The Fifth Wales International Harp Festival will be held April 5–11 at the Galeri Arts Centre in Caernarfon, North Wales. This year’s concerts, recitals, and competitions will feature the many traditions of the harp in various cultures, with performances by Welsh harpists Catrin Finch and Sioned Williams, the Welsh folk group Pedair, Colombian harpist Edmar Castañeda, Gambian kora player Sona Jobarteh, and American jazz harpist Deborah Henson-Conant.
The festival’s founder, Elinor Bennett, says, “As this will be my last festival as artistic director, I have chosen music that has given me great pleasure in the past and reflects the path of my career from the folk music of my early days to the classics of the harp repertoire and new works.”
