Harp students at Mercer have had the opportunity to learn music that will help propel them in their professional career. Ensemble music is geared towards the music a sole proprietor often finds themselves being hired to perform. As a soloist, all students are required to work on advanced music that hones their skills, but they also spend a good deal of their college learning how to market themselves, creating a repertoire of music that is most often requested, as well as focusing on the corners of the market that they believe they will be most likely to work, once they are professionals. Opportunities to perform in the community, with many ensembles, as soloists at local venues, and to shadow Professor Koch at events is an advantage offered to the students.
