I’m completely smitten by this music! I just downloaded the sheet music, but of course it’s not arranged for harp. I called L&H, and they don’t have it. But on the off chance that anyone has seen it, or arranged it for harp, I thought I’d post here.

In the meantime, I’ll be trying my best to arrange it to suit my abilities.

(Dang – I wish I could sing. This one is beautiful!!!)

I’m with you, Pat! I love a lot of their songs- some that come to mind besides The Blessing are Caledonia, Tis’ The Last Rose of Summer, and Carrickfergus. I just love the way these songs are arranged, and the women’s voices are just amazing- so much so that they inspired me to take voice lessons! If I come across a harp arrangement for this, I’ll definitely let you know

I’ve been a fan of Dougie McLean’s “Caledonia” for a long time and went to youtube to hear Celtic Woman’s version. Sounds like Celtic Muzak to me. Ick. Celtic Thunder does a version much closer to Dougie’s, and in my opinion it’s much better, more heartfelt. When Celtic Woman first came out, I thought they were great. Now they sound way too “canned”. (IMHO)

Sorry to reply so late on this- I’ve been working 50+ hours a week at my main job and have only recently been able to start replying to this forum. And yes, I am planning on using the harp to accompany my voice. I was a soloist throughout highschool with a 3 1/2 octave vocal range, 1st soprano. I have found over the years that disuse has shortened my range and tone, and I want to get it back. Basically I want to make my voice a worthy enough instrument to play along with my harp.

I have to admit it is a bit of a struggle, but I received a very good piece of advice from a fellow musician at a gig I performed at recently. He told me to look at the process differently: rather than attempting to accompany the harp with my voice, look at the voice as the lead instrument and accompany with the harp. It’s a different psychology that I have to get used to, as this is my first attempt to accompany my voice with an instrument. Interesting…

Oh, by the way, if anyone likes “The Prayer” by Celtic Woman, the music can be found in Sylvia Woods 22 Romantic Songs book.

It’s great that you can play AND sing. I have a six note vocal range…kinda like Cher…
