I got my harp today in cherry. It’s settling in nicely, just wish i had more hours in the day to play

I actually have two teachers, one is classical the other folk. Both are very inspiring and I was going to meet them half way and buy a single action pedal harp from Fischer Harfen. However, after listening to some clips of the Mademoiselle, and reading over the forums, and just admiring its beauty, I think I’ve found the match made in heaven.
I think the repertoire for lever harp is certainly increasing and improving, I have no doubt I’ll be kept occupied for a life time on the new instrument. 🙂

Hi, I have been playing the lever harp for nearly two years. I bought a Gwydir harp from the Little Welsh Shop and it was great to get to grips with placement and basic technique. However the instrument is not perfect ( I believe they’re Pakistani made) and the neck is beginning to warp, albeit this hasn’t impacted on the sound, or the levers. So I’ve been looking for a good lever harp with a more classical sound and noticed the Mademoiselle.
My teacher wanted me to upgrade to a pedal but I’m a mature student and don’t think I’ll ever get good enough to take on the classical repertoire fully. (If I do then I might invest). Your blog has certainly given me great confidence over my choice. I’m hopefully going to test the Harp out tomorrow at the EMS and bring it home 🙂 So Excited!
Any advice you could give me about the harp would be most appreciated.
