    Hi thank you so much for your input.
    I am not a professional harpist or music student.
    But a music degree is in my mind maybe in a few years time so I do want to use this harp for study if that degree ever happen.

    I was originally not fond of the Camac sound but after a while, I don’t think it bothers me that much.
    I got a pretty good deal from the dealer, with price include the transport cover set and to door delivery.
    And I know many of Camac innovative improvements to the harp so I tend to prefer them as we don’t have technicians readily available in the country for camac.

    Hi Carl,
    That is very kind of you. However, with the conversion rate, tax on top in Australia end, duty fee, airport fee, freights etc plus the age of the harp, altogether it would not make much of a difference if I am going to get a brand new Aoyama in Australia through dealer with warranty. It is such a hassle here if we have a used harp with structural problem as we don’t have many people around who can deal with pedal harp structural fixing.

    The custom is the exact part I don’t want to deal with here, so I think cheap price will only benefit people who live in USA with used pedal harp over there without having to deal with all the costs above.

    Hi Carl,

    Thank you for your reply. I find that the hassle and documents and import etc etc to ship the harp from the USA and payment is too much given I am in Australia. Therefore, I never consider buying without a dealer doing all of those for me.
    And can’t inspect the harp directly I’m afraid I’m not ready to pay yet 🙁
    I do wish I live over there it would make things so much easier.

    Hi Carl,

    Thanks for your reply.
    We seem to have problems shipping harp to Australia.
    I asked a few USA harpist who relocate to Australia and they all explain a very lengthy process with importing and tax and custom and fee etc
    That’s why I never choose the option of buying it myself from USA.
    Plus the conversion rate will jack up the price dramatically
    Not sure if you have a different experience?

    I am saving up as well. I am in Australia and there is no finance available for any of the big brands of harp. You just have to save up for it.
    I put monthly a portion of my salary toward an account that is hidden from my bank app so I don’t touch it. And just aim for the best, put most of my income of my side jobs towards it!
    Be patient I guess and keep reminding yourself why you want it that much 🙂
