“The Magic Fountain” from Glamour Suite No. 1 by Harry J. Chalmers. Two pages long, easy to learn, very schmaltzy, but people love it. Also out of print, I’m sure, so you’d have to search for a copy. Listed as “Solo for Harp or Piano”, but I think a pianist would have to substitute arpeggios for the glisses. Lots of easy arpeggios, something like the ones in Sam Pratt’s Fountain piece.

I have a high school student who is in the same boat. She is advanced on three other instruments, but fairly new to her Harpsicle. Good, well-written repertoire for this size harp seems to be very difficult to find. Last week I started her on Bernard Andres’ “La Gimblette”, and she was thrilled. Like you, I hope to find more good repertoire for small harp in books or singles. I will be watching to see what others come up with. Thanks for bringing this up!

I’d like to try the rubber picks, but couldn’t find them on Sylvia Woods’ website. I did find some Wedgie rubber picks online, though. Are they the same thing? I see they come Soft, Medium and Hard. I’m guessing Medium would be about right. Does anybody know for sure? Thanks.

“Great Day” by Nancy Gustavson. Wows ’em every time, and a lot easier than a lot of the “big” pieces.
