A unique program for lever and pedal harpists of all levels to immerse themselves in a week of lessons, ensembles and workshops with exceptional teachers and enjoy the camaraderie of similarly motivated students. Participants feel supported to explore their instrument in depth, according to their own goals and abilities. All students and faculty reside at the spectacular Sanctum Retreat sharing meals, laughter, quiet walks, spontaneous jam sessions and fireside chats.
CISHI 2020 will take place in a beautiful and tranquil location about 1 1/2 hr drive northwest of Calgary (www.sanctumretreat.ca). For students flying into Calgary, CISHI staff will be happy to help with arranging a ride-share with local participants or a shuttle if need
Our returning students say it all:
“I’ve attended several harp festivals and one other one week ‘harp camp’. CISHI was by far the most integrated, the most rewarding, and the most fun thus far. Well worth the 2000 km/ 1400 miles of travel!” Karen Jougla Shelton (Santa Barbara, CA USA)
“As a lever harp teacher, it was a thrill for me to have a private lesson with each of the 4 instructors, and then free time to incorporate what I had learned. This followed a dazzling concert by the faculty, so I think we were all instinctively trying to up our game! Everyone also played in small ensembles, rehearsing through the week to develop our group piece, finally showing it off with a certain amount of “drama” on the last day!” Caroline Mackay (Penticton, BC)
“CISHI gave me an incredible opportunity to set aside time to learn and grow with my harp! The faculty was great and so encouraging and I loved the opportunity to connect with so many other harpists! The facility was amazing and is a nice change from the race of life. This was definitely one of the very best weeks of my life!” Laura Mest (Gibson City, Illinois)
