This included William Butler Yeats, who set &#8220;Down By The Salley Gardens&#8221; to a folk melody, and Herbert Hughes, who reset the same words in 1909 to &#8220;Maids of the Mourne Shore.&#8221; Thomas Moore set his poem, &#8220;The Minstrel Boy,&#8221; to the ancient air &#8220;The Moreen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This arrangement is in the key of C.
